My Balanced Mind

A resource to explore

Exploring two ways

Download a free PDF or editable Word worksheet to compare a familiar way of thinking with another response explored in therapy.

About this resource

Exploring two ways supports work you and your therapist have developed together. It gives you space to compare a familiar interpretation with another perspective, including how each one connects with your feelings and actions. An alternative perspective can be realistic without needing to be positive.

How to use this resource

  1. Choose the situation or belief you have been discussing in therapy.
  2. Compare the familiar interpretation with the alternative you have explored together.
  3. Notice how each perspective might affect what you feel and do next.

An everyday example

“If I ask a question, everyone will think I’m incapable” could be compared with “Asking a question can help me understand the task.” You can explore the effects of each interpretation together.
